Steve and I served the missionaries of New Tribes Mission in the Philippines at their annual conference last month. Steve shared 6 messages with the adults and the missionaries were very appreciative of the encouragement and challenges from God’s Word. The adults also shared updates on the various ministries and spent time praying for one another. There were strategy meetings and time for fun and relaxation, too. A special luncheon was served to the missionary women and that was when they asked me to speak to them. My message to them was well-received, too.

Missions Purpose Giving Status
Each year our members purpose in their hearts how much they would like to give towards our missionary support. This is an offering over and above our regular giving. The Missions team takes the total from those commitments, and lets our missionaries know what they can expect from us. Last quarter’s giving was enough for us to send 100% of our commitment out each month. January is starting out slow, and as of the 18th is at 75%.

As missionaries Steve & Sue ministered to the Batak tribe in the Philippines from 1980 to 1986. After the NTM conference, they were able to reunite with that same tribe. Brian Pruett has written an article and posted a video of the 22 year reunion on his NTM newsletter. |
